A Glass of Milk

یک لیوان شیر

Once upon a time, there was a poor boy who made a living by selling various objects from door to door. 

روزگاری پسرک فقیری بود که با فروش چیزهای مختلف از این در به آن در، گذران زندگی می‌کرد.

This was the way he earned money to pay for his school.

این راه و روشی بود که پسرک پول برای پرداخت هزینه مدرسه‌اش کسب می‌کرد.

One day, as he was walking from house to house as usual, he felt very hungry and weak. 

روزی، در حالی که داشت طبق معمول از این خانه به آن خانه قدم می‌زد، احساس گرسنگی و ضعف کرد.

He felt that he couldn’t walk even a few steps any more. 

او احساس کرد که دیگر حتی چند قدم هم نمی‌تواند بردارد.

He decided to ask for food at a house. 

او تصمیم گرفت که از خانه‌ای درخواست غذا کند.

He knocked on the door and was stunned to see a beautiful young girl open the door. 

او در را کوبید و از دیدن دختری زیبا که در را باز کرد مات و مبهوت ماند.

With much hesitation, he asked the girl for a glass of water.

با بی‌میلی‌اش، پسرک از دختر درخواست یک لیوان آب کرد.

The young girl understood his condition and offered him a huge glass of milk. 

دختر جوان اوضاع پسرک را درک کرد و به او یک لیوان بزرگ شیر تقدیم کرد.

With an astonished look, the boy drank the milk very slowly.

با نگاه حیرت زده، پسرک شیر را به آرامی نوشید.

“How much do I owe you for this milk?” he asked her.

پسرک از دختر پرسید: "من برای این شیر چقدر به شما بدهکارم؟"

The girl replied, “I do not want any money for this.”

دختر پاسخ داد، "من برای این هیچ پولی نمی‌خواهم".

The boy thanked the girl from the bottom of his heart and left the place.

پسرک از ته قلبش از دختر سپاسگزاری کرد و محل را ترک کرد.

Years passed by and the young girl grew up. 

سالها گذشتند و دختر جوان بزرگ شد.

In her youth, unfortunately, she fell ill and was diagnosed with a rare kind of nervous disorder. 

در جوانی‌اش، متاسفانه، دختر جوان مریض شد و بیماری‌‌اش یک مشکل عصبی نادر تشخیص داده شد.

Many experienced doctors were baffled at her condition, and she was admitted in the city hospital with the most advanced facilities.

بسیاری از پزشکان با تجربه از وضعیت او گیج شده بودند و او در بیمارستان شهر با پیشرفته ترین امکانات بستری شد.

Dr. Kevin, a renowned neuro specialist was called in by the hospital to examine her. 

دکتر کوین، متخصص مغز و اعصاب مشهور توسط بیمارستان برای معاینه او فراخوانده شد.

Even with his extraordinary expertise, Dr. Kevin found the girl’s illness very hard to cure. 

دکتر کوین حتی با تخصص فوق‌العاده‌اش، درمان بیماری دختر را بسیار سخت می‌دانست.

However, with perseverance and hard work that lasted months, he was finally able to get the disease under control. 

با این حال، با پشتکار و سخت کوشی که ماه ها به طول انجامید، دکتر کوین سرانجام توانست بیماری را تحت کنترل درآورد.

With careful medication and monitoring, the girl was completely cured in the end.

با دارو و نظارت دقیق در نهایت دختر به طور کامل درمان شد.

Everyone praised the doctor, but the girl was quite worried about how much the hospital bill would come to. 

همه از دکتر تعریف و تقدیر کردند، اما دختر بسیار نگران بود که قبض بیمارستان چقدر خواهد شد.

Her family had just a little money kept away in the bank, which was by no means enough to pay for such a long treatment in that reputed hospital.

خانواده او فقط اندکی پول در بانک کنار گذاشته بودند که به هیچ وجه برای پرداخت هزینه درمان طولانی در آن بیمارستان مشهور کافی نبود.

The girl was given the hospital bill finally. With trembling hands, she opened it. 

بالاخره صورت حساب بیمارستان به دختر داده شد. با دستان لرزان آن را باز کرد.

She was stunned to see that the bill had been crossed out and cancelled, and there was a note underneath signed by Dr. Kevin.

او وقتی دید که این صورتحساب خط خورده و لغو شده بود متحیر شد، و زیر آن یادداشتی با امضای دکتر کوین وجود داشت.

“Bill paid years ago,with a glass of milk!”

"قبض سالها پیش،  با یک لیوان شیر پرداخت شد!"

One good turn begets another

یک کار خوب منجر به کار خوب دیگر می‌شود.
